CGF Registration Process and National Grades

Contractors requiring Bonds and Guarantees are initially required to register with CGF, free of charge. The criteria and procedures for registration and the obtaining of Bonds and Guarantees are provided below.

  1st step Valid CIDA registration: Is a requirement for obtaining government contracts. The Beneficiary should be a Construction Contractor registered with the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA), having a valid CIDA registration with different specialties.
Registration and grading is a screening process for the capabilities of prospective contractors to determine their general ability to undertake different types and sizes of projects without reference to any specific contract.
Renewals and Compliance: After obtaining your CIDA contractor registration, be aware of their expiration dates and renewal requirements. Also, make sure to comply with all ongoing regulations and reporting obligations.

  2nd step Business Structure and Name: Decide on the structure of your contracting business (e.g. sole proprietorship, partnership, Limited Liability Company) and choose a business name that complies with any local registration rules. Register your contracting business with the appropriate government authorities. This step may involve registering your business with the local city or county government.
Having a Business Registration, either as a sole proprietor/ partnership/ limited liability or as a joint venture, registered with the relevant Authorities. The contractor should also have a registered office with necessary resources to be able to undertake the project applied for.
  3rd step Complete Application Forms: Fill out all necessary application forms for contractor registration. Be prepared to provide information about your business, experience, qualifications, and any required supporting documentation. CGF Registration form set
    Having past experience in the particular field of construction. Providing evidence of past contracts undertaken, including details of the employer, nature of works, the costs and the time limits, will be an added advantage to the Contractor and such information together with guarantees obtained for projects from other organizations and completion certificates of such projects, if any, should be given to CGF at the time of applying for facilities.
    Evidence of having sufficient Financial credibility/ stability during last few years, together with bank and other financial facilities enjoyed by the Contractor, should be furnished to CGF, to understand the Contractor’s track record, in utilizing funds, loans and overdrafts and also to prove the Contractor’s capacity to undertake projects.
    The Contractor should be an organization with applicable Tax and statutory payment facilities. In this regard the Contractor will have to furnish to CGF, audited accounts of the past three years together with evidence of payment of taxes, etc.
  4th step Submit Applications and Fees: Submit the completed application forms along with any required supporting documents and this process totally FREE. You can send the document through email then handover / mail original copies to CGF.
  5th Pay attention to any processing times and follow up on the status of your application if necessary.
Await Approval: Wait for the approval of your contractor registration. This may take some time depending on the workload of the authorities and the complexity of the application.

Data validation and verification are crucial steps in the application process to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the information provided by applicants. These steps help organizations and businesses to make informed decisions based on the data they receive.
    Once the Contractor meets the CGF criteria and is duly registered, the Contractor can then apply to CGF to obtain facilities such as Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, Advance Payment Guarantees, Maintenance Bonds, Retention Bonds, Combined Bonds, Counter Guarantees and other CGF facilities, on condition that, initially the Contractor will be provided with Bid Bonds. Then once the Contractor builds his relationship with CGF, the other relevant facilities will be provided.

Note: All signatures on your application must be original and notarized. We cannot accept a copy of your application.

Completed applications submitted by mail are currently taking 1-2 weeks after process and activate your registration. Once your organization is registered, it will be listed in our registered contractor list and eligible to get all CGF services with conditions.
If any of the required information is missing or incorrect, we will contact you to help complete your registration.

With above two qualifications Business Registration (BR) and CIDA Registration the Contractors can bid for projects within their capacity and at the same time could register with CGF for facilities within CIDA capacity contracts.
